Indore- Transportation of 11 goods come under new
E-Way Bill system
The Electronic Way Bill (E-Way Bill) system on
inter-district transportation of goods (intra-state)
will be implemented in the state from Wednesday.
Initially, E-way bill be mandatory on 11 items only. The
country-wide E-way bill on inter-state transportation of
goods has already been implemented from April 1.
MP State Goods and Service Tax (SGST) department issued
notification on rolling out EWB for inter-district or
intra-state transportation of goods on Tuesday, stating
that it will come into force from Wednesday.
The transportation of 11 goods will require EWB from the
day. They include pan masala, confectionery items,
plywood and laminated sheet, all types of iron and
steel, edible oil, auto parts, cigarette/tobacco and
tobacco products, electric and electronic goods,
lubricants, tiles, ceramic goods, ceramic blocks,
ceramic pipes etc.
Keep bills
Tax consultants said that though the EWB is mandatory
for 11 items, traders and transporters will require bill
for transporting all kinds of goods. During the
transportation of goods, they will have to keep the copy
of invoice or receipt of tax paid on those particular
goods. Similarly, in case of transportation of tax-free
goods where EWB is not required, a driver or transporter
will have to maintain invoice of those goods. In case,
the anti-evasion wing of SGST department will trace
tax-free goods without bill, it will attract fine of 2%
of total value of the goods or Rs 25,000, whichever will
be less.
Time limit of transportation
While rolling out the intra-state EWB, the SGST
department has also fixed the duration of
transportation. The validity of EWB for distance of less
than 100 km is one day. With increase in distance for
every 100 kms, additional one day will be added. |
